Appeal Representation

Expert case management

If you are embarking on the Local Resolution process after an MDT or preparing for an Independent Review Panel following an unsuccessful local appeal for Continuing Healthcare, we can help you present your case effectively.

If you need help with a CHC Appeal, the first stage is our Appeal Advice Service. If we do recommend appeal, instructing us to represent you can maximise your chances of success.

Successful CHC appeals depend on presenting the right evidence, in the right way. Our specialist team can do the hard work for you and ensure the NHS has the information it needs to make the right decision.

Our experienced Case Managers can provide expert representation at both Local Resolution Meetings and Independent Review Panels, giving you invaluable support.

Our approach…

The main steps involved in our Appeal Representation Service:

  • Obtaining evidence for the appeal period in the form of care and medical records
  • Preparing a Detailed Medical Assessment using the records obtained. Sending this report to one of our Independent Nurse Assessors for analysis and clinical input
  • Providing you with in-depth advice about the merits of the claim
  • Subject to merits, lodging appeal with the NHS, preparing Written Submissions and dealing with all correspondence
  • Preparing for and attending the Local Resolution Meeting and/or Independent Review Panel; providing expert representation
  • Reviewing the outcome and offering our advice

Solicitor meeting

"From the moment I picked up the phone to Farley Dwek the stress levels we suffered dropped significantly as we had everything explained to us."

Gilmour Shelley

"We felt more confident going into the review process with Farley Dwek on our side. After they attended the assessment meeting with us we secured the funding and we continue to save on the astronomical care home fees that we might otherwise have had to pay."

Edward Battersby

"Without Farley Dwek’s support we wouldn’t have secured the funding. Soon after we presented our case with Farley Dwek we were informed by the NHS that my mother was entitled to the funding after all. It was a huge relief because the size of the care home fees can be a huge worry."

David Newton

"A sound investment! I had researched a number of firms offering assistance to help secure CHC funding for our Mum. I was very glad I chose Farley Dwek. Both my brother and I are retired solicitors and are able plough our way through regulatory material and legislation, However, neither of us had any experience in this area of law. I really appreciated Farley Dwek’s transparent and sensible advice. I would recommend doing the initial screening exercise with one of their nurses, we had the excellent Diane Jenkins for screening (and eventual support at the MDT)."

CHC client

"Carla acted as our nurse advocate at a recent DST meeting. We had a two hour preliminary phone discussion a couple of days beforehand and Carla's professionalism and attention to detail was immediately apparent. Her assistance on the day was invaluable as her clear undertanding and cross referencing of the various records meant that she was able pick up on any discrepancies/omissions and ensure that proper consideration was given and that nothing was overlooked or misinterpreted by the assessor. We couldn't have gone though this process without such amazing support. Thank you."
