Welcome to Farley Dwek Solicitors
The Care Funding Specialists
Thank you for visiting the Mirror’s Care Home Funding website in association with Farley Dwek Solicitors – specialists in Care Funding advice.
Dealing with care for parents and relatives is stressful and expensive, so to help you to understand the issues we’ve prepared a simple FREE guide to help you to understand the basics. Please complete our simple request form to receive your FREE copy of our guide, which you can also download if you prefer.
Under the Governments current rules, if your parent or relative has savings or assets of less than £14,250, then they will NOT have to pay for the costs of their Care, these will be paid for in full by Social Services – so there’s no need to worry.
If they have between £14,250 and £23,250, they will have to pay some of the costs themselves, and if they have over £23,250 in savings and assets, then they will have to pay ALL of the costs of their care.
However, one of the least known about aspects about Care Funding is the availability of FREE funding via the NHS, through what’s known as NHS Continuing Healthcare Funding. You should always check whether your parents or relatives are entitled to this free NHS funding first.
Put simply, if your parent or relative has “primary” healthcare needs, then the NHS should pay for 100% of their care, regardless of their income, or whether they have savings or not.
Our FREE guide explains NHS Continuing Healthcare funding and how it works, in simple terms, but for more details you can also visit Farley Dwek’s website here.
Not everyone will qualify for NHS Funding, but even if you don’t there are other steps you can take to help plan for the costs of care, which we cover in our FREE guide, including Top Tips and where to find more help.
